City of Hercules Chooses Achieve Learning as its official academic provider

ALRC is pleased to announce a new partnership with the City of Hercules for the upcoming school year and beyond. We are excited and honored that Hercules, a city that attracts families because of its already strong schools, has chosen our organization to continue its tradition of academic excellence.

Hercules schools rank perennially among the highest performing in West Contra Costa Unified School District. The high school in particular has a strong track record of sending students to some of the best colleges and universities across the country. We look forward to increasing the number of college ready students at the high school, and to helping more and more students access higher education at the school of their choosing.

As part of this partnership, we will be working closely with Hercules Middle and High School to ensure that as many students as possible have access to our services. We will supplement our already below market prices with a full scholarship program, guaranteeing that any student who wishes to attend any of our classes can. We will be offering all of our classes conveniently within walking distance of the school campuses, either at the Teen Center or at the public library.

The library and Teen Center are both new, state of the art facilities. Both locations have private rooms ideal for tutoring and educational classes, and indeed both sites currently hold other outstanding programs. Our classes will supplement the strong programming the city already provides.

We will be providing a full range of tutoring services and courses, with the goal of making every student is served. For college bound students, we have SAT and ACT test preparation, AP test preparation, and college counseling. For students who want to ace the CAHSEE, we have a preparation class for that. For students looking for help in one or more subjects – from 7th grade English to calculus to biology to European history – we have private and small group tutoring available. Our strong corps of tutors is ready and able to tackle any middle or high school subject, truly making our tutoring comprehensive.

Additionally, we'll be offering various courses and workshops throughout the year. Learning skills helps students with vital academic skills like test-taking, organization, and time management. College writing prepares students for the academic rigor that they will encounter in higher education. We'll also be doing shorter workshops for some of our popular programs, like SAT preparation.
